The Friends of the Hopkinton Library brings together a group of citizens who actively support and promote the Library through advocacy, program planning, volunteer services and fundraising.
In 2008, the Friends started anew, establishing the group as a 501(3c) non profit with the state. They are a private group, who supports the Library and its mission. Some of the major fundraisers are the Apple Crisp sale at Polyarts in the Fall and two book sales in late Fall and early Spring.
Funds raised by the Friends are used to purchase Museum Passes, fund events and programs, buy furniture and things that are not funded through the town budget or the Trust Fund.

Library staff was most excited this year to be able to purchase a projector and sound system to enable them to show movies at the Library and have these readily available for library events and programs.
The Friends of the Library are proud to sponsor many library passes for Hopkinton residents to local museums and attractions, including The Roger Williams Park Zoo, Plimouth Plantation, Museum of Science, Worcester Art Museum, The Discovery Museums, Boston by Foot and DeCordova Museum, Sculpture Park, Tower Hill Botanical Garden and Lookout Farm in Natick.
The Friends meet at 7 pm the first Thursday of every month at the Library.
